Emerson increases reliability in heat trace installations

Industrial heat trace deployments have a new sense of reliability thanks to Emerson’s Nelson AXPC Connection Kits. The kits are engineered to fulfill the increased safety requirements of NEC/CEC hazardous location codes, the company notes. The AXPC kits are compatible with 3/4-inch NPT conduit entries and contain everything needed to create “the safest, most reliable and fully protected heat trace wiring connections in multiple configurations,” as well as to verify the heating cable circuit’s operation, it says. Emerson notes that the kits protect petrochemical plants, food and beverage manufacturers, and power generation facilities from fluids freezing in pipes, valves and tanks during cold weather. The Nelson AXPC Connector Kits are constructed to withstand extreme conditions that might compromise a standard heat trace connector. Rated IP66 and NEMA 4X, the nonmetallic, impact-resistant enclosures make them suitable for use in highly corrosive environments, according to the company. Featuring reinforced standoffs to prevent cracking, the enclosures are carbon-impregnated so static charge cannot build up, it says. Another feature of the enclosures is that they offer the advantage of being both larger and modular in design for assuring easier, faster installation and service. The DIN-rail mounted terminal blocks help when maintaining the connection, while spring-clamp terminals simplify wiring with no need to tighten screws, the company notes. The kits fit all wattages of Nelson’s series of self-regulating heater cables. Aside from the AX Series for NEC and CEC installations, Nelson also offers its EX Series for IEC global hazardous requirements.

High intensity line lights latest from Advanced Illumination

Provider of innovative lighting solutions for machine vision applications, Advanced Illumination, introduced its LL330 Series of Sealed High Intensity Line Lights. The LL330 Series is designed to excel in challenging industrial environments, setting a new standard for reliability and performance in line scan imaging applications. The series is engineered to address the common challenges faced by industries that rely on line scan imaging in dusty and debris-laden environments, the company says. Traditional line lights are susceptible to dust and debris ingress, which can lead to decreased performance, frequent maintenance and costly downtime. The LL330 Series overcomes these issues, the company says, thanks to its innovative sealed design, which ensures complete protection from dust and debris while maintaining optimal light output. “We are excited to introduce the LL330 Series to the market,” said Mariann Kiraly, business development manager at Advanced Illumination, in a statement. “This product is a game-changer for industries that contend with dust and debris in their imaging environment. The LL330’s sealed design with passive thermal management and high-output intensity makes this series an ideal solution for challenging line scan applications. End users will also appreciate the LL330’s embedded control option, eliminating the need for an external controller, saving valuable space and simplifying installation.”

KROHNE’s OPTIMASS 1400 offers hygienic solution for beverage industry

KROHNE Inc. recently highlighted their OPTIMASS 1400 Coriolis mass flowmeter. The mass flow sensor is the first choice for food and beverage applications due to its prime price-performance ratio, the company says. The technology reliably measures mass and volume flow, density and concentration. The OPTIMASS 1400 is highly versatile, providing ideal solutions for the food and beverage industry. It comes with Entrained Gas Management (EGM) for applications with aerated products, such as raw milk, yogurt or ice cream. The product is drainable and easy to clean, with a small footprint, the company notes. Featuring twin measuring tubes, the OPTIMASS 1400 leverages the Coriolis effect to provide highly accurate readings across a range of flow conditions and fluid types, it says. Along with being easy to clean and drain, the product is resistant to installation and process effects, achieving a long working life. Its optimized flow divider minimizes pressure loss, guaranteeing a low pressure drop across the meter, the company says. Additionally, the OPTIMASS features modular electronics and data redundancy to enable seamless “plug and play” replacement. It is constructed with stainless steel, making it highly robust.

Doran Manufacturing releases new tire monitoring system

Provider of tire monitoring systems for truck fleets and off-road equipment, Doran Manufacturing, presented its Doran 360 tire monitoring system. The system helps drivers avoid roadside tire replacements while enhancing fuel efficiency, the company says. External, valve stem mounted sensors pass tire pressure and temperature data to the in-cab monitor/display, which provides drivers with real-time information and alerts. With the patented Green Means Good at-a-glance indicator, drivers can easily identify if there is an issue with their tires, the company notes. The system includes both visual and audible alerts for low inflation pressure, rapid deflation events and high tire temperatures. Doran also provides multiple options for fleet managers and equipment maintenance teams to receive real-time alerts as well. Fleets can schedule repairs and reductions thanks to monitoring and continually reporting tire pressures and temperatures, which reduces tire-related maintenance costs, extend tread life, protect casings and minimize catastrophic tire failures. The system also helps fleets achieve better fuel efficiency, as properly inflated tires roll more freely, Doran notes. The tire monitoring systems are ideal for owner-operators and fleets of all sizes.
