OnRobot showcases automation deployment through D:PLOY platform

OnRobot, provider of hardware and software solutions for collaborative applications, highlighted its groundbreaking D:PLOY platform and latest gripper innovations at Automate 2025, which took place in Detroit from May 12 to 15. In collaboration with integration partner EMI, OnRobot offered attendees hands-on experience demonstrating how D:PLOY is fundamentally changing the landscape of robotic automation by fully automating the deployment of robotic applications. D:PLOY is the first automatic development platform for cobots and industrial robots that enables the configuration of complete, Off-The-Shelf robotic systems for high-mix manufacturing applications. With full price transparency and same-day installation, D:PLOY gives manufacturers the freedom to adapt in real time, without relying on external experts or programming — and with typical ROI in less than a year, the company adds. “Automate is where manufacturers go to see what’s next,” said James Taylor, CCO at OnRobot, in statement. “And with D:PLOY and our Off-The-Shelf Solutions, what’s next is already here. We’re making automation a low-risk, high-reward investment — empowering businesses to deploy and redeploy on their own terms.” Visitors also experienced the benefits of OnRobot’s One System Solution: seamless integration of the company’s end-of-arm-tooling across all major robot brands and true plug-and-produce functionality, the company noted. “We look forward to showing manufacturers firsthand how our D:PLOY platform enables rapid, in-house deployment of robotic applications, leveraging our newest grippers for tangible productivity gains, all with complete cost transparency,” the CCO said ahead of Automate.

TricorBraun Flex introduces PolyRecycle Store Drop-off bag with degassing valve

Flexible packaging solutions provider announced the launch of its PolyRecycle Store Drop-off recyclable bag. The bag now features a one-way degassing valve specifically designed for packaging fresh coffee. The PolyRecycle was created to meet the coffee industry’s growing demand for environmentally friendly solutions without compromising product freshness, with a valve allowing the release of excess gases while maintaining the integrity of the packaging. It is also now pre-qualified to carry the How2Recycle Store Drop-off label, which makes it easier for consumers to recycle responsibly at participating Store Drop-off locations. The bag has been third-party tested to verify compatibility with The Association of Plastic Recyclers’ (APR) guidelines, the company notes. “TricorBraun Flex is committed to pushing the boundaries of sustainable packaging, and our new Store Drop-off recyclable bag with a one-way degassing valve is ideal for coffee roasters and other industries that require controlled freshness,” said William J. Walters, vice president of product engineering for TricorBraun Flex, in a statement. “It’s a win-win for the environment and the marketplace. Additionally, offering a Store Drop-off recyclable bag with the valve is an innovative way for coffee brands to stay competitive, demonstrating their commitment to product quality and freshness, while meeting consumer demand for eco-friendly packaging.” Additionally key features include barrier protection and a customizable design. The barrier protection shields products from oxygen and moisture for maximum freshness over extended periods, while the customizable design allows brands to choose what fits best for their product, from matte and glossy versions to various sizes.

Carrier Transicold unveils enhancements for electric vector TRU family

While at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Anaheim last month, Carrier Transicold exhibited its advancements in electric transport refrigeration. The ACT Expo took place from April 28-May 1. Carrier Transicold is part of Carrier Global Corporation and showcased its innovative electric technologies that help shippers and carriers manage perishable freight without the fuel consumption, emissions, noise and operating costs associated with diesel-powered transport refrigeration units (TRUs). The new Vector 8200 is an all-electric, engineless TRU for single or multi-temperature trailer storage. It uses electricity from the grid or other external sources, adjusting its power draw to changes in a facility’s electrical supply. It features four remote evaporator choices that provide the flexibility to cool one-, two- or three-compartment trailers. Meanwhile, the next-generation Vector eCool system has a new power management architecture that maximizes energy efficiency from regenerative and grid-supplied electricity. This helps fleets balance their power generation, consumption and cooling needs. The eCool uses in-wheel electric motors to generate up to 160 kilowatt-hour (kWh) peak power and transforms the energy into electricity to run the TRU or charge the system’s 45-kWh battery. Vector eCool is North America’s only all-electric refrigerated trailer system that fully regenerates while the unit is in motion, the company says. Carrier Transicold also showcased its complete line of eCool TRUs, including Supra eCool electric TRUs for straight trucks and the all-electric Neos 200e for small delivery vehicles.
