RGIS unveils universal self-scan software for retailers
Inventory management solutions provider RGIS revealed its latest innovation: U Count. U Count is an innovative SaaS technology that allows retailers to access its market-leading inventory tools directly from their own devices, the company explains. The software is designed to transform in-house inventory and make it more accurate, efficient and highly cost-effective, it says. U Count is tailored to the needs of small- to medium-size business, including departments in larger retailers or independent storeowners. Toyota Material Handling releases eco-friendly forklifts
Toyota Material Handling has expanded its portfolio with the release of high-performance, eco-friendly forklifts. These new offerings are the Integrated Mid & Large Electric Pneumatic Forklifts and the refreshed Core Electric Forklift series. The models deliver superior operational efficiency while enhancing environmental sustainability, the company says. This reinforces its commitment to its Vision 2030 and its goal to become a carbon-neutral company. “Our two newest products reinforce Toyota’s commitment to environmental stewardship without compromising the efficiency and power of our reliable products,” said Bill Finery, president and CEO of Toyota Material Handling, in a statement. “These two new models are impactful in many different applications, meeting the needs of all our customers and harnessing the innovation and power of our electric products.” Engineered to meet the most demanding heavy-duty applications, the Integrated Mid & Large Electric Pneumatic Forklifts are particularly fit for outdoor environments where robust performance is required for transporting heavy loads. Hitachi launches food quality visualization solution
Hitachi Industrial Equipment Systems Co. Ltd. announced it now is offering paid samples of its food quality visualization solution, which uses time-temperature sensing ink. The ink changes color based on elapsed time and temperature, enabling cost-effective quality monitoring in the supply chain, the company notes. Without requiring power or retrieval, the solution simplifies tracking temperature-sensitive products, improving product value and reducing waste, it says. This solution includes a label printed with time-temperature sensing ink and a quality visualization app. The label is attached to products and includes a two-dimensional code for tracking. By scanning the label with the app, users can determine accumulated temperature data, predict ripeness and identify the optimal time for consumption.

Domino Printing Sciences announces pallet labeling solution
Domino Printing Sciences launched its new Mx-Series electric pallet labeler, the Mx350i-eP. The new, electrically driven pallet labeler boasts a suite of smart technological enhancements that allow for safer operation and improved efficiency, all while reducing overall energy and air consumption compared with traditional pneumatic technology, the company says. The mx350i-eP is part of the company’s electric range of print and apply label applicators, which builds on existing Mx-Series technology by delivering electrical applicators with potion paths in the horizontal and vertical planes, which suite a wide range of product and palletizing applications. Londonderry, N.H.-based Admix Inc. announced the appointment of Jonas Öberg as the new managing director for its European operation, which is located in Fredensborg, Denmark. Global manufacturer of suspension systems and components for trucks and trailers Hendrickson, Woodridge, Ill., revealed a recent investment in solar energy. The company is building a solar farm in Joliet, Ill., to power its bumper plant. The farm will include 2,100 solar panels and produce an estimated 1.58 megawatts annually. “This solar investment complements Hendrickson’s ongoing sustainability program as we continue our commitment to producing highly-engineered, high-quality components and systems for the commercial vehicle industry while reducing the impact on the environment,” said Matt Joy, Hendrickson’s president and CEO, in a statement.
Peterbilt Motors Co., Denton, Texas,named Jake Montero as general manager and PACCAR vice president. Global manufacturer of heavy-duty commercial vehicle components SAF-Holland, Bessenbach, Germany, announced its capability to provide a complete offering of quality aftermarket parts for trailers, trucks and buses at any life stage. The brand family features a complete lineup including OE Original service parts, All-Makes parts and Remanufactured parts, the company says. SAF-Holland also unveiled the rebrand of its remanufactured brand as Haldex REMAN, replacing the former Like-Nu brand. “Haldex is expanding its remanufactured product portfolio to respond to the rising demands in this segment as the number of older vehicles in the market increase,” said Brent Dinger, Reman product manager, in a statement. “We are now dedicating the Marion, N.C. facility solely to Haldex REMAN products, and have streamlined operations to allow for further expansion of focused OEM product lines.”

GoSpotCheck, Denver, has expanded its Suntory Global Spirits partnership with image recognition artificial intelligence (AI) software. Suntory is a leader in premium spirits with brands like Jim Beam and Maker’s Mark. The image recognition AI software supports the company’s focus on being closer to consumer trends and “where things happen,” the company says. Suntory calls this the “Gemba.” GoSpotCheck’s mobile AI technology allows users to collect SKU-level data in all sales environments, the company adds, as it observes execution firsthand, identifying and resolving issues on-site. “We are focused on employing the latest tools and technologies to advance the digital transformation of our business,” said Hernan Tabah, chief digital and technology officer at Suntory, in a statement. “This requires having deep consumer insights to inform our commercial execution to help us deliver incredible experiences to consumers through our iconic premium brands.”
