Eaton announced its latest innovation in backup power protection with the North American launch of the 9395XC uninterruptible power supply (UPS). Designed to anticipate the growing needs for large power capacity in a small footprint in data centers, the new solution delivers reliable, flexible power protection for everything from hyperscale and multitenant data centers to enterprise and light industrial applications.

LGM Series Air Handlers – Aspen Manufacturing

Aspen Manufacturing LLC introduced its LGM Series high-efficiency, multi-position, aluminum coil 120-V air handlers.

The 120-V LGM Series is designed to offer installation versatility. The units are shipped as upflow or horizontal right and can be converted for downflow or horizontal left installations on-site by HVAC technicians. When a proper metering device is used, the LGM Series units are ETL-listed for use with R-22 or -410A refrigerants.  In addition, they can be Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI)-certified with most brands of air conditioners or heat pumps. The units are available in 2- through 4-ton cooling capacity without electric heat.

When properly installed and tested in accordance with ASHRAE Standard 193, the sturdy, fully insulated galvanized steel cabinet offers less than 2% air leakage from the cabinet. A factory-provided knockout for duct return is standard on all LGM Series models, and all feature an easy access door for coil cleaning.

All LGM Series models feature a high-efficiency, 120-V ECM motor with factory programmed software to control motor speeds and torques. Aspen’s proprietary software encoding allows the ECM motors to provide optimal performance and reliability. Rail-mounted blowers allow easy removal during service and routine maintenance by HVAC technicians. An electronic control board includes a blower time delay which helps to maximize heat/cool extraction and offers an integrated fuse for additional protection.

Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US (METUS) introduces Lossnay^® RVX2, the next generation of Lossnay Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) units, designed to help building owners, engineers, and architects meet ventilation requirements and improve IAQ.

High-performance Lossnay RVX2 ERV units improve comfort and efficiency by repurposing heat from the exhaust airstream to condition filtered outdoor air supplied for ventilation. Designed to save energy in commercial and light commercial settings, Lossnay is a total heat exchange ventilation system with a low-maintenance cross-flow energy-exchange core made of a specially treated, cellulose-fiber membrane for temperature (sensible heat) and humidity (latent heat) exchanges.

EV Series Model S ERV – RenewAire

RenewAire^® introduces the EV Series Premium–Model S, a static plate enthalpy core-based energy recovery ventilator (ERV) for smaller, entry-level, IAQ-oriented applications in North America.

Like the larger EV Series Premium M and L models, which were introduced in 2020, the Model S offers an exceptional cfm/watt, exhaust air transfer ratio (EATR), and static pressure capabilities with customizable operational features.
The Model S is Home Ventilation Institute (HVI)-certified (CSA 439-09) and designed for pinpoint (IAQ) in single-family homes under 2,500 square feet, condos, dormitories, manufactured homes, and light commercial buildings. Contractors can eliminate the upfront capital, installation, and maintenance costs of conventional bathroom fans with one Model S in compliance with the International Residential Code (IRC) but also add energy-saving heat recovery and a sensor-activated boost mode to offset IAQ challenges, such as bathroom showering, kitchen cooking, or house guests with potential infections. Using a Model S to supplant bath fans reduces home penetrations from four to two, improves the Home Energy Rating System (HERS), and provides local and federal rebate incentives for contractors.    

The Model S offers HVI-rated 1.82-cfm per watt (tested under IECC 2021 standards for motors up to ½-hp) efficiency. Its many features include variable fan speeds supplying 30-130 cfm by an electronically commutated motor (ECM). The space-saving impellor fan helps reduce its footprint to 22 1/2-by-9-by-23 ¾ inches for fitting tight spaces.

The Model S also futureproofs new homes with its 1-inch w.g. external static pressure capacity, which surpasses the upcoming 0.4-inch w.g. ASHRAE 62.2 Standard revision. Fan speeds automatically adjust to room activity and contaminants that are monitored and activated automatically to boost mode by CO₂, VOC, IAQ, or occupancy sensors or manually with a remote push-button in the space.

Expanded Stainless ‘00’ Series Circulator Offering – Taco Comfort Solutions

Taco Comfort Solutions has expanded its line of stainless steel volute circulators within the “00e,” high-efficiency electronically commutated motor (ECM) circulator family of products. For domestic water applications that must be lead-free, the 007e, 0015e, and 0018e circulators are now available in NSF/ANSI 61- and 372-certified stainless steel.

00e Series circulators include high-efficiency, quiet ECM motors, designed to reduce electric consumption. These circulators also include Taco’s SureStart^® automatic unblocking and air-purge mode. Dual wiring knockouts and 6-inch stranded wire leads make for easy installation. They also feature integral flow check (IFC^®) valves and are double-insulated, so no ground wire is needed.

All new stainless steel 00e circulators are available with universal flange, or 1-inch union connections. Press-fit connections will soon be available.
