Process Heating & Cooling Show Announces Education Program, Keynote Speaker

The inaugural Process Heating & Cooling Show, to be held June 15-16 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill., announced its education program and keynote speaker.

The education program kicks off with a keynote presentation by Omar Nashashibi of The Franklin Partnership. Nashashibi, a Washington, D.C.-based lobbyist and strategic consultant, will review the latest government regulations, international trade, tariffs and changing tax laws. Nashashibi works with manufacturers, producers and distributors to identify vulnerabilities in the supply chain and risks to customers caused by the imposition of tariffs or new trade agreements. He also provides real-time analysis of how new regulations and laws relating to taxes, OSHA, EPA, and others could cause disruptions or create opportunities. He will deliver the keynote on Wednesday, June 15 at 9 a.m. (CT).

Other education sessions to be held during the two-day show include:

  • Heat Source Selection and Evaluation; presented by Angela Krueger of ASI, Division of Thermal Technologies Inc.
  • Optimizing Process Cooling with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs); presented by Tom Stone of Thermal Care Inc.
  • Infrared 101 – How and When to Use it to Improve Your Process Heating; presented by Marty Sawyer of Trimac Industrial Systems
  • Reclaiming Heat Transfer Fluids Satisfies Sustainability and Budgetary Objectives; presented by Richard Beemsterboer of ORG CHEM Group
  • Keeping Refrigerated Warehouses Sustainable with Thermal Energy Storage; presented by James Bell of Viking Cold Solutions
  • Oil-free Process Cooling and Heat Recovery Process/Comfort Heating Symbiosis Systems; presented by Drew Turner of Danfoss
  • Optimizing Your Heating System for Energy Efficiency; presented by Edye Buchanan of BriskHeat Corp.
  • The Secret to Safer Steam Methane Reforming; presented by Mike Spalding of Reuter-Stokes, a Baker Hughes business

Review the complete program here. The education program sessions are approved for continuing education credits by the following accrediting bodies: the Engineering Registered Continuing Education Program (RCEP); Refrigerating Engineers and Technicians Association (RETA); the American Institute of Architects (AIA); and International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). The following courses will offer 1 PDH; 1 RETA PDH; 1 AIA LU/Elective; and 0.1 IACET CEU.

The Process Heating & Cooling Show will bring together executives who are responsible for heating and cooling processes from a cross-sector of industries including oil and gas, electronics, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, packaging and plastics, and more. IIoT Software Platform for Pollution Control Equipment Seeks Pilot Customers

Anguil Environmental Systems Inc. launched an Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) software platform. The Milwaukee, Wis.-based company is seeking participants for a pilot program.

The platform is tailored specifically for enhancing operational transparency and reporting capabilities for environmental pollution control equipment. Anguil partnered with Siemens to leverage its Mindsphere software, which provides data security and complex development components and tools. Anguil’s IIoT platform is designed to leverage existing equipment data to improve performance, lower maintenance costs and prevent unplanned downtime. To further test the IIoT platform, Anguil is seeking industrial facilities with existing environmental technologies to participate in a pilot program.

Unlike the Internet of Things (IoT), which largely centers on consumer devices, IIoT focuses on bringing connectivity and data exchange capabilities via an Internet connection to industrial and manufacturing contexts.

Partnership to Offer Heat Transfer Solutions

Valin Corp. partnered with Ametek’s O’Brien business, part of its Thermal Process Management business unit, to stock and offer its tubing bundle, enclosure and insulation product lines to Valin’s customer base.

O’Brien’s instrument enclosure protection and tubing bundle solutions are designed to protect temperature, sensing and analytical sampling critical for processes in the petrochemical, refining, pulp-and-paper and power generation industries.

Valin’s location in San Jose, Calif., along with its relationships in the refining, oil-andgas, and power generation markets made the partnership attractive to O’Brien, says the company in a release. Because of its knowledge of process heat, instrumentation, valves and filtration, Valin is positioned to provide off-the-shelf and custom solutions. Valin will stock and supply O’Brien instrument enclosures, stands and tubing bundles for a range of applications.

Batch Ovens Used for Curing, Drying

Lewco Inc. delivered two industrial batch ovens with a maximum temperature of 800°F (427°C). The ovens are heated with direct-fired natural gas and will be used for curing and drying parts.

The ovens were custom configured to fit into a tight space in an existing room with a recessed floor. Lewco designed the oven to be shipped in multiple sections to fit through restrictive doorways at the customer's facility.

Each walk-in oven is equipped with a top-mounted heater box and a heat capacity of 1 million BTU/hr. A 14,000-cfm circulation fan delivers uniform air throughout the workspace, and a 750-cfm exhaust fan is included to discharge the moisture-laden air and pull in fresh makeup air.
