How long have you been in the PHCP-PVF industry?
I started working full time in 2007.
What drew you into the industry?
I’m second generation and grew up working for my dad. When I was in high school, I used to work for him on the weekends, after school and during breaks. I started with the grunt work, primarily hand digging water lines, cutting out asphalt for sewer installs and small outdoor repairs, then slowly worked my way into running a service truck.
What is the most rewarding aspect of working in the industry?
I love being the hero, especially when we get the opportunity to come in behind another company that either failed to deliver on the customer service aspect or could not diagnose a problem.
What motivates you every day?
My company is not large but not small, roughly 20 people. What motivates me personally every day is knowing I have 20 families that rely on the success of my business for their own success. Not showing up and not performing is not an option for me.
What is one thing you wish more people knew/understood about the PHCP-PVF industry?
I think this is getting to be pretty well-known now, but a job in the trades is an excellent career. It’s a dying breed, the pay is great and once you learn a trade you will always have a job.
What has been your proudest moment in your career so far?
Many things come to mind for me here; the growth we’ve had, the reputation we’ve built, the culture we’ve developed but I think the proudest moment I’ve had is hearing my dad tell me how proud he is to see what I’ve done.
What is one thing most people don’t know about you?
One odd thing about me that tends to shock people: I’ve had lots of pets in my lifetime, but the easiest, chilliest pet, which I currently have, is my 10-year-old Tarantula, Rosita.
