How long have you been in the PHCP-PVF industry?
7 years.
What drew you into the industry?
During the uncertainty of COVID, I found limited opportunities, but a strong interest in HVAC. Although I started building R.C. airplanes, I realized heating and cooling systems were an area where I could make a real difference. Starting as a Technical Hydronic Specialist gave me the chance to combine technical design with practical solutions. Moving to Canada and starting fresh without a local network or recognition pushed me to work harder and focus on adding value.
What is the most rewarding aspect of working in the industry?
Helping clients by turning complex engineering into real comfort and energy savings. One project I remember well involved educating a property team so they could confidently approve an upgrade that cuts their energy use by over thirty percent.
What motivates you every day?
I want to solve problems before they happen. I started a program to help engineers and contractors catch design issues early. This approach saved one hotel thousands of dollars, and built strong trust with my clients.
What is one thing you wish more people knew/understood about the PHCP-PVF industry?
Our industry affects everyday comfort and safety more than people realize. Early teamwork between product reps, engineers and contractors makes projects smoother and less expensive.
What has been your proudest moment in your career so far?
I once told a client to go with a competitor because they were a better fit. That honesty surprised them but led to a much bigger project later because they trusted me.
What is one thing most people don’t know about you?
I used to be very afraid of public speaking. I challenged myself to lead technical sessions, and now enjoy sharing knowledge and listening carefully, which has made me a better communicator and salesperson.
