Tarco has introduced two new moisture prevention products: LeakBarrier 25RA self-adhered flashing membrane and LeakBarrier Butyl self-adhesive moisture barrier. LeakBarrier 25RA SBS Self-Adhered Flashing Membrane is a cost-effective, durable, and premium-grade SBS self-adhered flashing membrane engineered for “superior performance.” The flashing’s 25-mil thickness creates a “formidable moisture barrier.” 25RA is fortified with 90-day UV resistance for prolonged exposure to sunlight. LeakBarrier Butyl is a high-performance, self-adhesive moisture barrier featuring a butyl adhesive and an engineered polyethylene film suitable for a broad temperature range, including application temperatures as cold as 15 degrees Fahrenheit. The 20-mil thick membrane is applicable on both vertical and sloped surfaces and is designed to meet many construction requirements. The membrane can withstand both high- and low-temperature extremes. Enhanced UV resistance allows for up to 120 days of exposure.

TopShield announced the launch of its CraftGrade Independence underlayment, which the company said in a news release is designed to be “35-times stronger and eight times lighter than 30-pound felt.” The news release said the underlayment’s construction provides durable weather and tear resistance and an anti-slip coating with skid-resistant properties that help prevent slips and falls. It added that the product’s lighter weight facilitates easy handling during installation.
TopShield said CraftGrade offers 17% more coverage per course than a standard 30-pound felt roll and is highly water-repellent, reducing warping, wrinkling, and cracking in cold weather. The product is 100% inorganic and will not rot or mold.

PABCO Roofing Products announced it had begun shipping a new, wider version of its ridge cap, Shadow Cap Wide, at least three inches wider than its standard Shadow Cap product. The company said the new ridge cap is designed for “optimal coverage, color matching, and vented ridge applications.” Shadow Cap Wide is available in eight colors and complements all PABCO shingle lines. The new product also includes ‘Algae Defender,’ which uses copper granules to protect against black streaks caused by blue-green algae. Each Shadow Cap Wide color is engineered to meet the standards of all PABCO Roofing shingle lines. PABCO describes the Shadow Cap Wide as offering enhanced flexibility for a “unified solution across different ridges, hips, gables, and vented ridge systems”; each bundle covers 31 linear feet of ridge cap and is designed for easy application.

Westlake Royal Building Products introduces SwiftAnchor high-performance and mechanically fastened base or anchor sheet. Incorporating patented nail-gasketing technology, the company said it offers “superior moisture and wind uplift resistance combined with a high grip backing for deck grab and improved walkability.” The product is offered in 40-inch by 300-foot rolls, approximately 10 squares, or 1,000 square feet; each roll weighs just 45 pounds. The company noted that the product is easy to load and install on the roof. Clearly identifiable lay lines help simplify installation. Westlake Royal says UV and thermal stability allow it to be left uncovered for up to 60 days, certified for ASTM D8257 and meets the performance requirements of Miami-Dade and FBC 2023 when installed with Westlake Royal TileSeal HT or Westlake Royal MetalSeal HT underlayments. The product comes with a limited 30-year warranty.

Polyglass U.S.A., Inc. announces the launch of Modifleece, a fleece-backed Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene (SBS) modified bitumen roofing membrane base sheet. Designed for use in multi-ply low-slope roofing systems, Polygass said in a news release that Modifleece “sets a new standard in roofing technology, offering unparalleled performance and versatility.” Modifleece integrates a specially formulated dual compound into the polyester fabric, creating a seamless bond between the two components. The self-adhered side laps are safeguarded by a protective release film, which is removed during application to reveal the self-adhered SBS compound, ensuring watertight seams. Polyglass notes it is suitable for application directly over irregular or semi-rough substrates, including Lightweight Concrete, and as a recovery option over existing modified bitumen roofing systems. Polyglass says the non-penetrating system saves valuable install time when compared to fastened base sheet systems, particularly in high-wind areas.

BRUNT Workwear announced the launch of its first Goodyear welted construction work boots: the new Marin Welted and Mulder Welted styles, saying the new line is designed for trade workers requiring “increased stability, support and [durable] footwear.” By expanding into the welted boots segment, BRUNT said it has enhanced its product range and dedication to offering high-quality workwear solutions for all types of workers at an accessible price point. The new Goodyear welted boots
provide what the company describes as a “sturdier platform with enhanced torsional stability, support and safety for workers in heavy-duty trades by helping to prevent the foot from bending and twisting when working on even surfaces such as rebar, cement, and rocks.” Beginning in August 2024, the Marin Welted and Mulder Welted boots will be available at BRUNT's website and select retail locations across the country.

DuPont announced the launch of its latest addition to the company’s roofing underlayment product line: the Tyvek Protec PSU peel-and-stick underlayment, designed to provide high-temperature and UV resistance along with a slip-resistant walking surface and split liner for easy installation. Among its attributes, Tyvek Protec PSU also offers ICC-ES code report and achieved FL/Miami-Dade certification. The self-adhered Tyvek Protec PSU product is intended for critical areas of the roof, including eaves and valleys that are more susceptible to water leaks. The adhesive layer, composed of rubberized asphalt, is an additional sealant, offering protection at fasteners and nails compared to a mechanically attached sheet. The product also protects against water intrusion due to wind-driven rain and ice dams, allowing it to cater to different climates and regions.

Johns Manville announced the launch of its JM PVC SD Plus Fleeceback product line. Johns Manville will offer a 60mil and 80mil product in both a 76-inch as well as a 144-inch configuration, which can provide added labor savings with fewer welded seams. These new products will continue to use the same proven Johns Manville PVC SD Plus formulation customers trust while adding the durability and application flexibility of the Johns Manville fleeceback product offerings.
