KARNAK Corp. has introduced 671 Karna-Seal Silicone White Roof Sealant, a single-component, moisture-curing, 100% silicone roof sealant that offers excellent UV resistance, flexibility, and tensile strength. 671 Karna-Seal resists weathering, hardening, chalking, and cracking. The sealant is touted as being three times stronger than others and includes:

• Easy trowel application
• Repairs all roof types, but best suited for silicone coatings
• Can be applied underwater

GAF recently introduced its Bleed-Block Asphalt Roof Primer, a bleed-blocking primer for silicone coatings over smooth asphaltic, granular asphaltic and built-up roof systems. The GAF Bleed-Block Asphalt Roof Primer, tinted light blue for visibility, acts as a barrier that blocks asphaltic oils from staining the silicone topcoat.

Multibase SB from Mule-Hide Products sets the stage for the company’s 100% Silicone Roof Coating, delivering strong adhesion and blocking asphalt bleed-through. It can be applied to modified bitumen, EPDM, PVC, asphaltic built-up roofing, concrete and Hypalon roof surfaces that do not experience ponding water. It saturates the substrate, contains minimal pigment and has no mineral fillers, enhancing its bond with the roof surface. As a stain-blocker, it helps ensure that white finish coats provide optimal reflectivity. Light yellow out of the container, it cures to darker amber, offering visual confirmation that it has cured and the finish coat can be applied.

NanoTech has unveiled what it calls a “groundbreaking Next Generation Cool Roof Coating” that the company says will redefine energy efficiency in roofing. The coating combines traditional thermal properties with low thermal conductivity, achieving unprecedented energy reduction numbers. The next-gen coating “thermally outperforms competitors by 200-300% while extending the life of aging roofs by more than 10 years, all at less than $1 per sq. ft., on average.” Features include thermal performance, cost-effectiveness, high-quality resin (71% solids) and ease of installation.

The company said that it is designed to be “35 times stronger and eight times lighter than 30-pound felt.” CraftGrade, Topshield’s premium product line, added that the underlayment’s construction ensures durable weather and tear resistance, and an anti-slip coating with skid-resistant properties helps prevent slips and falls. The underlayment's lighter weight facilitates easy handling during installation, which is quick and efficient. It offers 17% more coverage per course than a standard 30-pound felt roll and is highly water-repellent, which reduces warping, wrinkling, and cracking in cold weather. The product is 100% inorganic and will not rot or mold, making it a “green” building product.

The white polyester top layer of Tarco’s LeakBarrier NR600 Ultra provides a lower-temperature working surface for the installer, while the thick layer of SBS compound self-seals around fasteners, preventing moisture penetration.
