How long have you been in the PHCP-PVF industry?

I started in April of 2022 as a driver, became Warehouse Manager by October 2022 and now am Operation Manager since the start of 2024.

What drew you into the industry?

My father has been part of the industry for as long as I can remember (20+ years) and his move to Winston Water Cooler opened an opportunity for me to make the move over and it’s been amazing. Winston Water Cooler has really helped me develop quickly and it has given me opportunities.

What is the most rewarding aspect of working in the industry?

The people and co-workers I get to see and meet every day; great people in this industry, from customers to vender reps, it’s never a dull moment. I enjoy the relationships you get to create with everyone.

What motivates you every day?

The fact that there is still so much to learn and what feels like endless opportunities to continue to grow within the industry and Winston Water Cooler. I want to keep learning and growing every day.

What is one thing you wish more people knew/understood about the PHCP-PVF industry?

The importance of what this industry brings to people, to ensure a proper system that delivers clean water and removes waste while also ensuring a heating and cooling system that functions efficiently and safely. The expertise required to design, install, and maintain these complex systems is often underestimated. The work done within the PHCP-PVF industry are essential for functioning of hospitals, schools, homes, and businesses and requires a deep understanding of engineering principles, environmental concerns, and technological advancements.

What has been your proudest moment in your career so far?

Helping to clean up all the back-end maintenance and getting our 365 No Sale from 6-7% of our inventory to under 1% within 4 months which allows us to be much more balanced .

What is one thing most people don’t know about you?

I take pride in doing what needs to be done to complete my work. As of right now, the back end operational work is what is exciting to me, fixing problems and making sure things are running as smooth as possible.

Devin Escobar is a 2nd generation member of the Plumbing Wholesale business. The two of them joined Winston Water Cooler of Corpus Christi team in early 2022 to help long time wholesale leader, Ronnie Moreno, start his business.

Like most new employees, Devin started as a warehouse employee who picked material, loaded, and unloaded trucks and basically did whatever needed to be done. Quickly Ronnie and the Operations Manager realized they had a diamond in the rough. They started grooming him as the Warehouse Manager. By mid-2023, Devin had mastered Winston’s ERP, material management and managing the warehouse team which led to him being promoted to the position of Warehouse Manager. Devin’s talents in the areas of organization and material knowledge shined during the 2023 EOY physical inventory.

Upon the retirement of their Operations Manager in 2024, Devin was promoted to the Operations Manager position plus he is in an Operations Liaison role for the Winston Water Cooler of Victoria.

In addition to Devin’s quickly rising through the ranks and mastering material management, what makes Devin an All Star is his constant thirst for information coupled with his relentless execution to the overall success and bottom-line value of the business.

To quote, Ronnie Moreno, who is a huge baseball aficionado, “In just a short, 2 years Devin has risen from the minor leagues of the industry to my Bench Coach. During game time situations Devin usually has the players on the field in position before I hit the field. This enables me to concentrate on selling and servicing the customer! I fully expect Devin to be running a wholesale team of his own in a few short years!”
