Atlas EnergyShield® XR is the first polyiso continuous insulation board designed for above and below grade applications to help improve energy efficiency and interior comfort in both commercial and residential projects. EnergyShield XR is manufactured using environmentally responsible processes and formulations, containing no CFCs, HCFCs or HFCs, resulting in zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and negligible Global Warming Potential (GWP). EnergyShield XR is GREENGUARD Gold certified and contributes to LEED credits. This one single product exceeds performance expectations while offering enhanced comfort and energy efficiency with a strong sustainability profile that’s more versatile than XPS. How does EnergyShield XR Compare to XPS insulation?

EnergyShield XR polyiso outperforms XPS insulation (you know them as the blue, pink or green stuff) across the board. Advantages include 30% higher R-value per inch (6.5 per inch), more design flexibility in fire-rated wall assemblies, better compatibility to solvents and UV so it will not melt or deform when exposed, decades of proven performance with an ultra-low GWP formulation, and more cost effective than the new formulations of XPS.
